Benji: It was as devastating as burn wounds— a dog who survived because of the wildfires.

It was as devastating as burn wounds—
a dog who survived because of the wildfires.
During the wildfires in Gyeongsangbuk Province, CARE activists were searching for injured dogs when they encountered one in a truly horrifying state.
Tied to a short rope—no one knows for how long—reduced to a single, matted mass of fur…
That was Benji, wagging his tail, wearing layers of filth like armor.
He wasn’t burned by the fire. But we couldn’t leave Benji behind.
Benji was a long-haired farm guard dog. And many dogs like him perished in the wildfires.
Knowing that Benji could one day face the same fate, CARE rescued that tangled bundle of fur.
CARE shaved him completely and helped him learn how to live as a companion dog—ready for adoption.
Those efforts changed everything. Look at Benji now.
With the support of Seoulmate, Benji was adopted overseas.
No longer chained as a farm guard dog, he now runs freely in a yard, roaming fields and mountains as the life he was always meant to live.
Dogs freed from suffering. That is why CARE keeps running—every single day.
