So, are the dogs raised for consumption safe to eat?
We went to a dog farm with an animal protection group.
From the entrance, we can smell the offensive odor. We get closer to see a gruesome scene.
Excrement is piled and firmed up on the cage floors.
The dogs are covered with excrements.
Excrements are piled up on the ground as well.
Excrements and food is mixed even the inside of food bowls.
It’s impossible to get out because of swarms of flies all around and keep sinking into puddles of excrements.
When’s the last time you cleaned this place?
Farm owner: About a month and a half ago.
Reporter: These dogs will be sold as meat, right?
Farm owner: Yes.
Reporter: Don’t you think it’s unsanitary?
Farm owner: Yes. It is unsanitary.
Reporter: Then why don’t you clean?
Farm owner: Well, I should but I don’t get to…
The health of dogs living in this condition can not be good.
Dogs with loss of hair and skin turned black. We also suspect skin diseases and infections.
What do you do with the dogs with wounds or with diseases?
Farm owner: I use medications.
Reporter: What kind?
Farm owner: Mostly antibiotics.
Reporter: How much do you use?
Farm owner: It depends.
Antibiotics and needles are found in many places inside cages.

Reporter: Sir, do you eat dog soup?
Farm owner: No, I don’t!
Reporter: Because you don’t eat them, you don’t care about the sanitation?
Farm owner: Even though there are exceptions, you will see most dog farmers uses antibiotics in reality.
Reporter: So, does that make it okay?
Farm owner: No, it’s not ok……
We even found the body and bones of dead dogs on the ground.
Reporter: Would you eat dirty things like that? It looks disgusting.
Farm owner: It’s dirty but once we hand over the dogs to the merchants, my job is done.
Reporter: That’s sounds irresponsible.
Farm owner: You will see that slaughterhouses are not sanitary either.
We met with a veterinarian and asked him about the conditions of the dogs we filmed.
