Results Thank you for your interest in and participation in the military administration.
Dogs can be raised as part of the livestock law, but dog meat is not included in “animal for food” such as cattle, pigs and chickens under the livestock law.
There have been some dog-raising farms in our military, but most of the meat farmers are now either closed or will soon disappear due to the recent changes in people’s consciousness and reduced consumption of dog soup.
Some breeding farms have completed reporting of livestock manure discharge facilities and recycling of food waste, and there has been no illegal slaughter of dogs. We trained and guided the illegal slaughter of dogs and animal protection laws to the farmers.
Even 10 years ago, there were some stores that sold dog meat in the traditional market in our county, but now most of them have not been found, so we changed or closed our business.
Our county office is committed to the prevention, animal rescue, and protection of animals stipulated in the Animal Protection Act.

2. 귀하의 민원내용은 “불법 개고기 농장 단속”인 것으로 판단됩니다.
3. 귀하의 불법 개고기 농장 관련 문의에 대한 검토 의견은 아래와 같습니다.

○ 개는 축산법에 가축에 포함되어 사육 가능하지만, 개고기는 축산물관리법상 소, 돼지, 닭 등 “식용을 목적으로 하는 동물”에 포함되어 있지 않습니다.
○ 우리군에서는 개를 사육하는 농가가 일부 있었으나 최근 국민의식 변화와 보양탕 소비 감소로 이어져 현재 일부사육농가도 대부분 농장을 폐업하였거나 멀지 않아 사라질 것입니다.
○ 일부 사육농가는 가축분뇨배출시설 신고 및 음식물류 폐기물 재활용 신고를 완료한 축사이며 불법 개도살 사실은 없었으며 농장주에게 불법개도살 및 동물보호법 교육 및 안내하였습니다.
○ 우리군 관내 전통시장에서 10년 전만 하더라도 개고기를 판매하는 상점도 있었으나 현재는 찾는 사람이 없기 때문에 업종을 변경하였거나 폐업하였습니다.
○ 우리군은 동물보호법에 명시한 동물의 학대금지, 동물의 구조, 보호에 최선을 다하고 있습니다.
