2. 귀하께서 질의하신 내용은 「개 식용 종식 촉구」 등에 관한 사항으로 이해됩니다.

○ 정부는 지난해 12월 9일 개 식용 문제 논의를 위해 민관합동으로「개 식용 문제 논의를 위한 위원회」를 공식 출범하여 개 식용과 관련된 현황조사와 개 식용 관련 대국민 인식조사 등을 실시하였고, 그간 20차례 회의를 개최하여 개 식용 종식이 시대적 흐름이라는 인식에 공감대를 형성하였습니다.

○ 다만, 종식 시기, 종식을 이행하기 위한 구체적인 실행방안 등에 대해서는 아직 이견이 있는 상황인 만큼 위원회 운영을 지속하여 이 부분을 집중적으로 논의하고자 합니다.

Results 1. Hello. Thank you for your interest in the work of the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA). Here is the answer to your complaint to the MADRA.
2. We understand the complaint as an ‘inquiry related to dog meat issues’.
3. The review opinion is as follows:
○ On December 9, 2021, the government has officially launched the 「Committee for the discussion of dog meat issues」 jointly with the public and private sectors to discuss the dog meat issues. We are continuing to discuss the main points related to the end of dog meat by June this year.

○ The government conducted a survey on the current status of dog meat jointly with the related ministries and public awareness survey regarding dog meat. We are discussing specific measures and procedures to solve the dog meat issues based on the results.
