Sori: Rescue changes lives.
Sharing for Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE)
Rescue changes lives. That’s why CARE rescues as many animals as possible—but our work doesn’t end there. CARE connects each rescue to broader policy reforms, legislative action, and public campaigns to create lasting change.
Approximately 50 animals were rescued from the Andong forest fire, and CARE is currently helping them begin brand-new lives.
Sori is one of the most heartbreaking survivors of the March 2025 wildfires in southeastern South Korea. She was left tethered and defenseless as the flames closed in, suffering severe, agonizing burns across her body. Instead of receiving care, Sori’s owner cruelly moved her to a new location and forced her back into service as a guard dog—replacing her melted collar with a new chain over her open, festering wounds. After 14 days of extreme neglect without any medical treatment, Sori was finally rescued by CARE and hospitalized to begin her long journey toward recovery.
We are deeply grateful to Anseong Mirae Animal Hospital and adop_me for standing in solidarity with us by supporting Sori’s medical treatment and adoption.

💗🐾🙏 In addition to these recent rescues, CARE provides a sanctuary for 800 dogs at their shelters, all rescued from the horrors of dog meat farms and puppy mills. Your donation will support CARE’s vital mission to end the dog meat trade and animal cruelty in South Korea, and will directly assist with the medical care, fostering, and overseas adoption of these deserving dogs.
