Thank you for your compassion regarding the dog and cat meat industry in South Korea and for reaching out to us.

We are pleased to share a major milestone: on January 9, 2024, South Korea’s National Assembly passed a Special Bill banning the breeding, slaughter, distribution, and consumption of dogs for meat. However, our work is far from over.

Even with the new law in place, countless dogs continue to suffer and be brutally slaughtered. Their unimaginable pain fuels our unwavering commitment to relentlessly campaigning to end this cruelty, before the official deadline.

Moreover, even dogs not involved in the meat trade continue to suffer under heartbreaking conditions due to widespread neglect. Many spend their entire lives chained outdoors, often on tethers less than three feet long, without proper shelter, exposed to harsh weather, and denied meaningful human contact.
