Job accomplished – All dogs are out of hell!

Mission accomplished, and job done. We had a dozen losses during the six week process of moving the dogs out of this hell. Empty cages- this is what I’ve wanted to see. All are out, with half warming up at our shelter and the other half at boarding. It wasn’t easy for a small activist group like us to take on 300 dogs at our dog farm. We struggle daily with the overwhelming number of dogs we have, especially with our limited resources. It’s time for us to focus on our major concerns: dog care, veterinary care, and dog food supplies. We need about 26 bags (20 kg) per day, please help us to feed these dogs.

Give now

The last twenty dogs needed to be sedated to be removed. It took five hours to do so with the most experienced 119 Bucheon City’s rescue team. Not all the dogs are aggressive, but they have been traumatized and are scared of coming out. They do not know that we are here to save them.

City of Bucheon mobilized all 911 (119 in Korea) teams. We managed to pull out twenty dogs and leave. Some dogs refused to be pulled out, the last two (the most aggressive dogs) are left. This reminds me of the day we pulled out Oscar last February. They are now safe and in our hands after this. The dogs will be on another planet when they wake up.

The weather is on our side to complete the move. It has been an ‘Exodus’ to remove 300 dogs since last May, one by one, crate by crate, truck by truck. Very happy that we can get them out all today, thanks to the good weather.
Our shelter is full with over 150 dogs. We need to pay the boarding $8,000. Please give if you can, even a little, it all adds up. THANK YOU.
Your donation is tax deductible through the Soi Dog link.

The rain, unfortunately, stopped us yesterday from getting all the remaining dogs. It worsened after 2pm, pouring and raining cats and dogs. Two more trips with two trucks to the boarding facilities today will see this ‘mission accomplished’
The boarding facility charge $8,000 per month and we will have to pay for the vet bills; Please help us to take care of the 300 dogs by donating.

This mom has seven puppies; no names yet. She is very thin, just skin and bones. She won’t let me touch her yet. We will feed her the best.
More puppies to move tomorrow if it doesn’t rain.

The dogs in the first truck arrived at the boarding facility in the South, while the second truck headed to our shelter in the West. They will have to adjust to their new environment. I am glad that their paws will feel the ground at last, away from that hell.

One section is almost cleared but three dogs are still in the corner. They were trying to bite when we tried to pull them out; I may end up with a few more like Oscar. We could not continue the rescue because of the rain, but we managed to move 41 dogs all together out of a total number of 119.

Today it is raining heavily, the worst that I have ever seen. It’s pouring non-stop, my phone is wet and it’s very foggy. Ten dogs are now with Yim’s and a mom with seven puppies are at our shelter. These dogs could possibly be trained by Mr Yim. Who knows….the ‘meat’ dogs could become ‘search & rescue’ dogs one day.

The dogs are so terrified when we pull them out the metal cages. They have seen enough horrors; once a dog is pulled out, the others can hear the screaming and the dog never comes back. We don’t like the way the butcher handle the dogs: Jenny, a member of our crew, walks the dogs to allow them to feel the ground.
It’s midday in Korea and we have cleared one section of 25 dogs. Two more to go then it started to rain. It’s now a two-hour drive to the boarding facility.

This is the second ‘exodus’ from the 300 dogs kept at this farm. A total of 119 are remaining. I count the numbers whenever I am here. These dogs will touch the ground with their paws for the first time in their life!

All the female dogs were pregnant, with the exception of one. One of the two that were spayed last night is now back at the shelter. A dog just got discharged and is wagging her tail. This is Cherry on the list. www.namikim.org
