The ugly truth is that dog tonics and soup are harvested and created in an unregulated industry in the most disgusting and unsanitary conditions. From start to finish the treatment of the dogs is incredibly cruel and inhumane.

British Olympic Association responds regarding PyeongChang 2018.
|
We received the response below from the British Olympic Association(BOA) on March 27, 2018 regarding our campaign asking BOA take a stand in Pyeongchang 2018 against the dog and cat meat trade. We appreciate BOA for responding to our petition and we are urging the BOA to take action to help save the Korean dogs and speak out against the cruelty. Sarah Collinge, an attorney based in London, drafted a response letter and personally delivered it to the British Olympic Association’s office on April 3, 2017. Thank you, Sarah. And thank you to all the supporters who have written, emailed and called the BOA. Keep up the great work and let’s not let this golden opportunity to speak out for the poor Korean dogs and cats pass us by forever.

Campaign Update – WSAVA responds “support positive change with regard to the treatment of animals in the dog and cat meat trade in Asia”.
|
Dr. Ingwersen’s response is very encouraging, in that he states that “members of our Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee (AWWC) are discussing how we could most usefully support positive change with regard to the treatment of animals in the dog and cat meat trade in Asia.” He also informed us that they are “developing the world’s first Global Welfare Guidelines for Companion Animals, which will be launched at WSAVA World Congress in 2018”.
We look forward to hearing from Dr. Ingwersen regarding how WSAVA can help to put an end to the dog and cat meat trade in Asia and improve the welfare of these animals.
