We have learned that Yulin is preparing to go forward with the Dog Meat Festival June 21-30, despite the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture’s regulations that bans commercial dog and cat meat trade that came out on May 29.
Please take actions today to urge Chinese Government to shut down the Yulin Dog Meat Festival immediately.

Please Shut Down the Illegal Yulin Dog Meat Festival
We were very happy to hear that the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture has banned the commercial Dog and Cat Meat Trade. On May 29, 2020, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture released the latest version of the Directory of Genetic Resources of Livestock and Poultry. Dogs and cats are not on the list of animals that can be bred, raised, traded, or transported as livestock for commercial purposes, meaning that the commercial dog and cat meat trade is no longer legal in China. However, we have learned that there is evidence that organizers of the Yulin Dog Meat Festival are preparing to go forward with the festival from June 21 to 30. As well as being a horrible cruelty for dogs, subjecting the City of Yulin to international condemnation, the festival should now be illegal under the Agriculture Ministry’s new regulations. We strongly urge the Chinese authorities to enforce the new regulations and shut down the Yulin Dog Meat Festival immediately.

The defence of torture as a ‘cultural tradition’ celebrated with ‘festivals’ (atrocities such as Yulin) of dogs and cats being consumed is indefensible. China tortures dogs and cats while alive for the dog and cat meat trade in the following ways: beating to death, hanging to death, boiling to death, dismembering to death, blow-torching to death, slow roasting to death over an open fire, drowning to death — boiling or cold water is immaterial, clubbing to death, skinning alive (fur and meat) leading to a prolonged and agonizing death . . .. Do you want more methods? The methodologies used by the sadists, the psychopaths, — that is exactly what they are — involved in this corruption ridden trade in death are condoned by the totalitarian CCP and its cadres. As a dictatorship, China by the very definition of its imposed governance, The Party, the Law, can do whatever it wishes to the beings under its power and control. In this case, it just does not care to be/show compassion to nonhuman animals.
