We received a response today from the Seattle Office of Intergovernmental Relations regarding our Sister City campaign to encourage the City of Seattle to urge Daejeon to end the illegal and inhumane treatment of dogs and cats.

While their response affirmed that “The City of Seattle takes animal welfare seriously and urges others to do the same,” it did not directly address our specific concerns.

We appreciate the city of Seattle for responding to our petition. We remain hopeful and encouraged by the commitment of our supporters. The dogs in Daejeon still need our voice to help them. Please continue to reach out to the City of Seattle through calls, emails, and letters. Kindly ask them to take a more active role in addressing this issue, not only for the animals but also to reflect the values that make Seattle a city we can all be proud of.
