If you want to help fight the grisly South Korean dog and cat meat trade and make a difference in South Korea, here are a few quick actions you can take that could save millions of dogs and cats each year.

Seoul Seocho District became Sister city with Manhattan Borough, New York in 2003.
Culture, art, high-end shops, first-class hotels and fashionable streets – all can be found within Seocho District in the ‘City of Corporation and IT Industry’; regrettably, so can the so-called ‘health-food centers’, places that brutally slaughter dogs and cats, to be served up as food and drinks.
There are countless dog slaughterhouses, markets, and restaurants where the dogs, who have been tortured their entire lives, end up being slaughtered in the most inhumane ways, such as by electrocution, hanging, or beating, and then thrown into boiling water – sometimes while they are still alive. In many places, dogs are being killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs; and this takes place in public and in broad daylight. In addition, many abandoned and stolen former pets end up in this industry and are subject to the same cruelty.
A Search Engine reveals the sickening scale of Seoul Seocho District’s dog meat demand.
Shown below are two search results on Naver (the most popular search engine in Korea) – the first one was for so-called “Health Food Centers” which commonly sell dog elixirs and cat elixirs (also known as dog soju and cat soju), and the second one was for “dog meat restaurants.”
The searches resulted in dozens of 130 Health Food Centers; and 56 restaurants in the vicinity of the city of Seoul Seocho District alone.
Even if half of these ‘Health’ Food Centers and restaurants serve dog and cat ‘ingredients’ in one form or another, imagine how many dog/cat slaughterhouses must be present in the vicinity of Seoul Seocho District to supply these outlets.
There are laws in South Korea against selling dogs and cats for consumption, yet these laws are blatantly ignored.

Seoul Seocho District is one of the largest dog meat consumption areas in South Korea. The Korean internet searches resulted in: 130 Health Food Centers which commonly sell dog/cat elixirs (also known as dog soju and cat soju); and 56 dog meat soup restaurants in the vicinity of the city of Seoul Seocho District alone.
Manhattan Borough, New York should not be a Sister city to any city/district that allows dogs and cats to be tortured and eaten. Please urge Seoul Seocho District Mayor Eun-Hee Cho to close down all illegal dog farms and slaughterhouses, markets, truckers, and restaurants that serve their products. This makes me sick The Savag Brutality they do to dogs. I don’t understand how any person could do something like this to an animal cold hearted murderers if you ask me. I don’t understand how they can torture an animal just because it tastes better cuz of the adrenaline don’t they understand it’s cool don’t they hear the animals crying in pain doesn’t matter
Dogs are wonderful animals, and we humans must be grateful for al the help they give us.
They are used for helping disabled people, blind humans ,as companions for elderly people .There are drug detecting dogs , rescue dogs, they can even detect cancer in humans. But apart from being so useful, they are man’s best friend !
And what are the South Korean people doing with these lovely animals ,dogs and cats also ? They are eating them !
But before being eaten, they have to suffer atrociously .
They have to live in extremely small cages . And at the end of their miserable lives, they are tortured , skinned alive, cooked alive and/or their fur is burned off t alive. It makes me cry.
I can feel that you must be ashamed that your people are committing such barbaric acts against animals.
STOP THAT HORROR AND TRY TO EDUCATE THEM IN THEIR BEHAVIOR TOWARDS ANIMALS.
Do not ignore it. Ignoring is even worse than doing it.

pets are not food, they are our best friends, dogs help blind people to cross the streets or find people after earthcreak, watch our home, help handicap people to take cloth of , they are so wonderful animals, and cats help mental sick people too. so please stop the killing of pets now it is such a big crime you do
