Sister City Campaign – Boeun, South Korea – Clarence-Rockland, Canada

Mayor Guy Desjardins of Clarence-Rockland, Canada: Tell Sister City, Boeun, South Korea, That We’re Opposed to the Torture and Consumption of Dogs and Cats.

Boeun Mayor Jung Sang-Hyuck

If you want to help fight the grisly South Korean dog and cat meat trade and make a difference in South Korea, here are a few quick actions you can take that could save millions of dogs and cats each year.

Boeun became Sister city with Clarence-Rockland, Canada in 2018.

In Boeun, there are countless shops and restaurants where the dogs, tortured their entire lives and slaughtered in the most inhumane ways – such as by electrocution; hanging or beating; and being thrown into boiling water often while still alive – are served as food and “health tonic”. In many cases, these dogs are killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs. In addition, many abandoned and stolen former pets end up in this industry and are subjected to the same cruelty.

A Search Engine reveals the sickening scale of Boeun’s dog meat demand.

Searches turned up dozens of so called “Health Food Shops” and dog meat restaurants in and within the vicinity of Boeun.

Even if only half of these ‘Health’ Food Shops and restaurants serve dog and cat ‘ingredients’ in one form or another, just imagine how many dog/cat slaughterhouses must be present in the area to supply these outlets.

There are laws in South Korea against selling dogs and cats for consumption, yet these laws are blatantly ignored.
