Lemon, a fortunate survivor of the Yangpyeong dog massacre, has finally been discharged from veterinary care and warmly welcomed into a foster home.

Sadly, countless dogs nationwide still suffer from forced breeding and childbirth, echoing the tribulations Lemon faced. Inevitably, these animals are discarded and forsaken.

The Lemon-Free Project is a devoted campaign striving to eradicate the breeding industry entirely.

The ‘Lucy Project’ is a separate initiative led by a different organization, which advocates for the closure of pet shops while endorsing responsible breeding practices. Our project has been erroneously conflated with this one, resulting in confusion, misdirected signatures, and many inquiries to CARE. It is crucial to understand that shutting down pet shops and abolishing the breeding industry are distinct objectives. Imagine being in Lemon’s position: would you be content with your offspring being sold after raising them in a slightly improved environment, or would you resist a life reduced to a breeding machine?

Unlike the Lucy Project, the Lemon-Free Project pursues the complete termination of the breeding industry. Breeders, ultimately, regard animals as mere tools for reproduction. What fate awaits these animals once they have served their purpose? The answer is all too evident.
