KARA: South Korea must stop feeding animals food waste!

Sharing for Korea Animal Rights Advocates (KARA).

Recently, the Ministry of Environment issued an active ‘oppositional opinion’ on the issue of banning feeding animals food waste.
As African Swine Fever outbreak last year on September 17, countless lives were killed in this country. It is a proven fact that feeding animals food waste is one of the biggest cause of the spread of infectious diseases. However, what the government did was to only temporarily ban from feeding pigs food waste.

What is worse is that dog farms that feed their dogs food waste is excluded from the quarantine. Even if pig farms stop giving food wastes, there still are dirty and poor dog farms that harm the quarantine. To make matters worse, illegal farms that raise dogs and pigs at the same time and feed the same food waste are also common.

According to KARA’s research, there were also ‘edible dog’ farms near the farm where ASF first outbreak in South Korea. However, these dog farms have all been neglected, and one of them is still giving dogs food waste until recently.

More than 400,000 pigs have been killed in the name of ASF quarantine. South Korea couldn’t manage the risk of giving food waste to animals, and eventually killed all pigs in the administrative district, even pet mini pigs, without inspection. Dog farms next to the first ASF outbreak farm (Yeondasan-dong) were not even discussed, and dog farms (Odo-dong), which used to feed food waste to pigs 2 kilometers away from the outbreak farm, are left unattended and are still feeding food waste to dogs and chickens.

Based on scientific evidence, a total ban on giving food waste to animal must come first. Stop feeding animals food waste!

I think this is absolutely atrocious that people would ever treat animals in this manner. They will definitely at some point in their meaningless lives.

Is there a city, town, village, or any location at all in South Korea, a supposedly “civilized” country that doesn’t engage in this abhorrent, disgusting practice of abusing and slaughtering dogs and cats for meat? My heart goes out to the poor animals and those who attempt to rescue them. The people who partake in this horror, or who enable it by saying nothing, can rot in the burning place down under.

The first and only concern of these heartless, dirty and disgusting people is $$$$$. They have NO SCRUPLES when it comes to the treatment of animals. Their backward, archaic, unfounded thinking, has killed millions through the viruses they allow to rampantly breed without recourse. LHit them were it hurts, their pockets. Place sanctions on the Korean government and stop ALL TRADE until they finally step up to the plate and care enough to stop these atrocities.

Korea will never get respect from the rest of the world while these injustices continue. It’s time to move forward, Korea, and join a more compassionate world. Treat your animals right – and your citizens, too.

Questo paese tratta gli animali in modo crudele infame senza nessuna pietà, non si comportano come esseri civili e con dei sentimenti, dovrebbero imparare dai paesi civilizzati che usano i cani, gatti e altri animali utili alla vita di tutti i giorni
