Sharing for Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE)

In 2018, the Moran Market in Seongnam was known for its thriving dog-meat trade. Among numerous animals being sold for slaughter, there was a litter of dogs trapped in a box on a nearby hill. Cheese was one of them, confined to a cramped and filthy space with his siblings. The cruelty of their situation was unbearable; they were unable to move, let alone escape from the stormy summer rains or catch a glimpse of the sun. Instead, covered in filth, they were forced to subsist on food waste.

Just one day before Boknal, the box finally opened. All of Cheese’s siblings started to run and scatter, desperately trying to avoid the clutches of the strangers who captured them but were unsuccessful. In an unexpected twist of fate, it wasn’t a dog-slaughterer who had opened the box; it was members of our organization, and that was the day Cheese, and his siblings were rescued.

As it turned out, another dog trader had reported the whereabouts of the dogs to us. He admitted that he also slaughtered and ate dogs, but apparently, the sight of these animals trapped in a box was too much to bear even for him.

Over the last few years, one by one, the other siblings found homes overseas, leaving Cheese behind. Cheese has been recently moved to Run, our adoption center, where he is waiting to be adopted by a new family. He’s come a long way from the tiny box on the hill and deserves a home filled with love and kindness.

“개장수조차 ‘이건 너무 잔인하다’ 며 제보한 도살 직전 구출된 개들” -판자를 걷어내니 개들이 튀어 나왔다-

💫도살 용으로 아기 때부터 끌려와 갇혀 있던 치즈의 형제들, 제보자는 다름 아닌 개장수였습니다. 자신도 도살을 하고 보신탕을 팔지만 이렇게 개들을 방치하는 것은 너무 잔인하다며 케어로 제보가 들어왔던 사건. 아래는 치즈와 형제들의 이야기입니다💫
2018년 성남 모란 시장이 개를 도살하던 때, 길 건너 야산에는 모란시장으로 개를 넘기는 개장수가 박스에 개들을 숨겨 가둔 후 반복적으로 판매해 오고 있었습니다.
형제들과 함께 끌려와 나무 박스에 갇힌 치즈.
아직 어린 형제 개들은 그 좁은 곳에 빽빽이 갇혀 여름 폭우에도 무방비였습니다.
세 찬 비를 피할 수조차 없던 박스.
오물을 뒤집어쓰고, 햇빛도 보지 못한 채 음식물 쓰레기를 먹던 개들이 들어 있던 박스의 문이 복날 직전 열렸습니다. 문이 열리자 개들은 오랜만에 보는 햇빛을 향해 튀어 올랐습니다.
그러나 그들을 붙잡은 것은 도살자가 아니었습니다. 그 개들을 발견하고 수차례 구조계획을 세우던 케어 활동가들이었습니다. 결국 치즈와 형제들은 세상 밖으로 나올 수 있었고 케어의 품에 안겼습니다.
치즈의 형제들은 차례대로 해외 입양을 갔습니다.
치즈는 5년 동안 보호소에서 보호되다 얼마 전 RUN 으로 왔습니다.
오래오래 기다린 치즈에게도 늦었지만 진짜 가족을 찾아 줄 차례입니다. 치즈를 응원해 주세요.
