Save the mommy dog from being cooked!

Nami Kim and Melisa Baek of SaveKoreanDogs, recently found a Korean food restaurant which breeds dogs to cook for their guests and themselves or sell them to the dog trader truck which regularly comes around to the village. The place is called “Sister Restaurant (자매식당)” and it’s located in Ilsandong-gu District in Goyang. There are witnesses in the neighborhood to testify to this fact. They had a mother dog with 7 puppies.
In South Korea, killing and eating dogs is illegal. Nami and Melisa were able to negotiate with the restaurant owner to surrender the 7 puppies to them, but the restaurant owner refuses to surrender the mommy dog. They must be planning to breed her again or cook her. Therefore, we are asking the restaurant owner to surrender the mother dog immediately to the SaveKoreanDogs rescuers and to stop the illegal breeding, killing and selling of dogs and dog meat.

Nami Kim is currently fostering the 7 puppies. They are all vaccinated, health-checked and doing well without their mother. With your help and support, the SaveKoreanDogs team hope to rescue the mommy dog soon, before the end of the year, so that the family will be reunited.

We all wanted to save the mom from the restaurant. I returned yesterday, and was told by the owner that the mom was found dead. She escaped from the leash and roamed the village, looking for her pups. This was confirmed by the neighbors. Sometimes one rescue may cause another sacrifice, and brings doubt if we are doing the right thing. The mom needs our prayers now. I want to say to the mom, “We are sorry we couldn’t save you from there, although we tried our best. Forgive us. Your babies are safe with us, now”.
The restaurant business does not look good and the owner brought another pup into the same place where the seven pups were kept.

Terrible … so so tragic, callous and unnecessary … so many avenues are available to allow these beautiful animals to live …. yet, in the wrong environment, in the wrong hands, you get the opposite. —- Nami, keep working until all environments are the RIGHT environments for our dogs and cats — keep at it until all hands are the RIGHT hands for our dogs and cats. Keep enlightening people until they see THE GOOD in keeping our dogs and cats alive.
