Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE)/Watchdog is trying to shut down an illegal dog farm in Boryeong, South Korea. The dog farm owner is willing to relinquish the dogs, but the city of Boryeong is unwilling to rescue the 250 dogs at this dog farm suffering in the frigid cold, forced to eat rotten garbage in raised wire cages.

We ask the city of Boryeong to stop neglecting its duties, relocate all the dogs to the city shelter, provide them protection and medical care. The city of Boryeong must get these dogs ready for adoption.

The dog farm at Oseo Mountain Recreational Forest in Boryeong, South Korea, is secretly trying to hide the dogs by relocating!

After the continuous confrontation with the Watchdogs yesterday, Boryeong City officials said they would review the quarantine measures but left after work hours without taking any action.

Today, many cars came, and several men stormed the dog farm and, as expected, the owner of the dog farm was planning to relocate the dogs.

The CARE Rescue team was monitoring the scene and saw them and blocked them with a vehicle to prevent the dogs from being moved. These dogs must be taken to the Boryeong City Shelter to be quarantined and cared for.

Please contact Boryeong City to register your complaint. There is little time.

“오늘 또 민원액션! 보령시”
-농장주가 250마리 이상에 대해 포기 의사를 밝힌 가운데
-보령시청 축산과는 동물들 보호가 부담되어 여전히 거부하고 있습니다.
-법적, 행정적 격리조치는 학대사항이 아니라며 부담스러워하고
-농장주가 포기하는 상황은 나 몰라라.
-농장주가 알아서 입양 보내도록 하겠다? 좋은 일 아니냐?
-동물보호법에는 동물을 싫어하는 사람을 보호하는 법도 있다?(그래서, 뭐?)
농장주는 포기의사를 밝혔습니다. 이제 보령시가 적극적으로 동물을 보호할 의지만 가지면 됩니다. 개들이 도살되지 않도록, 입양을 갈 수 있도록 기회를 줄 수 있습니다.
40년간 산림과 환경을 훼손하도록 방치하고, 십 수 년 동안 주민 민원에 제대로 폐쇄조치도 내리지 못한 보령시청이 마지막 남은 개들에 대해 인도적인 보호관리를 하며 농장을 폐쇄하도록 목소리 내어 주세요.
(와치독은 보령시청에게 빠르게 원상회복명령을 내릴 수 있도록 해당 부서에 법조항을 설명하였고 법대로 행정조치를 진행하겠다는 약속을 받았습니다)
축산과가 문제입니다. 동물을 보호하겠다는 축산과가 동물에게 관심이 없습니다. 집도 지붕도 없이 묶여 있는 개들에 대해서도 여전히 그 상태 그대로 두고 격리조치를 하지 않습니다. 민원인들이 전화하면 사안은 뭉개고 논지를 흐리는 엉뚱한 감정적 답변으로 일관하며 물타기를 하고 있습니다.
두 번 째 방문에서 와치독은 그냥 현장에서 나가려는 공무원들을 붙들고 유기견이라고 주장한 개들은 먼저 지자체가 데려갈 것을 강하게 요구하였고 이를 3시간 이상 거부하는 공무원들에게 고성이 오가기도 하였습니다. 결국 유기견들은 겨우 지자체 보호소로 입소하였습니다. 나머지 250여마리는 여전히 심각한 상태로 방치되고 있습니다.
