Let’s show US Sister Cities the truth about the dog and cat meat trades – and ask them to take action.
Sister City Agreements are formed between two cities with the aim of being mutually beneficial (for trade, cultural exchanges, business links, etc., and to foster friendship), and many cities throughout the United States have such ‘twin cities’ all over South Korea. But, however beneficial these links are, they cannot simply be all about “taking the good and ignoring the bad.” There must surely be some social responsibility for the representatives of one city to take a stand against any wrongdoing being sanctioned or ignored by their Sister City: in this case, the illegal and aberrant dog and cat meat trades in South Korea. Therefore, we wish to bring the unacceptable practices of these trades to the attention of the relevant US City Mayors and their Offices and to urge them, in the spirit of friendship and for the good of the Korean people, to reach out to their counterparts in South Korea, asking them to enforce their laws and to put an end to the cruel dog and cat meat trades.

Honestly after I became better aware and educated on what went on not only to these dogs and cats but to the animals here in the USA I am now a vegan myself. We have enough animals for our food supply, we do not need to eat dogs. Spay and neuter these dogs so you have animal control. You do not need to eat companion animals.
The battle will not end, we will try to boycott, we can try as much as we can, but it is frustrating to realize that 99% of ALL products are made or manufactured in Korea or China (another country with same practices) and not all the products say the origin. When it comes to money, very few people care about suffering, much less of animals. I cooperate with innumerable associations which do as much as they can to save animals all over the world, I really admire their strong will to do the right thing.

This makes me sick!!! It’s barbaric! What kind of people dose this to a sweet precious dog or any animal! Why doesn’t the government or animal rights shut all this down! Those poor helpless sweet souls living in filth and made to watch cruel and inhuman torture! STOP THIS CRUELTY NOW!!
Our President should cut-off ALL communication with S. Korea until they uphold laws to STOP THIS CRUELTY. Young people in the country are starting to demand change but OUR country should show our strongest abhorrence to the wickedness of dog farms. AMERICA SHOULD GIVE A VOICE FOR THE CREATURES THAT HAVE NONE….. AND ACT ON THIS.

I hate animal cruelty period.
As an animal lover and animal activist, I feel it is really despicable, evil and inhumane that you can treat a mans best friend in this cruel and abusive trade in your country, South Korea.
I sincerely hope that the government of South Korea take immediate action enforcing animal protection laws! There is no excuse for animal abuse and of course there is KARMA “tte sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences” and GOD does not sleep!
